Family Learning Event - Saturday 25th October

The 3rd Family Learning Event was held at Pewsey Vale School on Saturday 25th October. It was run jointly by Pewsey Vale School and Voluntary Action Kennet. It is a national event which aims to encourage family members of all ages to try a new activity and have some fun together. Nearly 100 people came to the event and tried all sorts of activities. There was mask making run by Pewsey Primary School where children were creative and made wonderful and colourful masks. Glenda O'Connor from Pewsey Library run a great craft table where children and adults made bookmarks. There was a chance to do a bit of early christmas shopping with Phoenix Cards, Mini IQ and Partylite Candles. The most popular activity seemed to be cooking in the Food Technology Room where children made apricot cookies, Butternut squash bread and very tasty pizza rolls. A quiz for all ages was handed out and won by a very enterprising Pewsey Vale School Pupil.
Volunteer Centre Kennet and Pewsey Vale Timebank were there to offer information about volunteering in the area and several people showed an interest in the projects.
It was a great day and enjoyed by all who attended.
