New support group for breast feeding mums

Thursday 5th June saw the first of a new weekly breast feeding support group in Pewsey. The need for such a group was recognized by the local NCT, and was started to enable new mums to get together, meet other mums and support each other in an informal setting - initially in our meeting room at the children's centre. The all important coffee and cake was provided, and soon eight mums were chatting and relaxing, with the babies playing (or sleeping or feeding!). The aim of the group is for mums to support each other, but if specific advice is needed they can be directed to a suitable professional. Is was soon realised space is quite limited in our meeting room, especially as the babies grow up and the group (hopefully) becomes more popular so it was decided that a new venue be sought - watch this space for where it will be.
